He is currently the Senior Medical Director and founder of Minnesota Natural Medicine, P.A., a clinic that exemplifies this new type of medical practice. Prior to this, he worked in the private practice of internal medicine in St. Paul, MN, pioneering a new type of practice incorporating functional and natural medicine approaches to health, aging, and disease. In total, Dr. Foley has been in practice for more than 28 years.
He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1976. Prior to receiving his medical degree, Dr. Foley earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Foley is a frequent speaker on the topic of integrative medicine and is an instructor at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine where he continues to push the frontier of functional health management. He is also a member of the medical advisory board of the American Nutraceutical Association and is co-editor of the Journal of the American Nutraceutical Association. Dr. Foley has served as the president of the Minnesota chapter of the American Society of Internal Medicine and as a trustee of the Ramsey County Medical Society.
